The nature of the harp itself adds touch of class to your wedding!
Beste’s tip for your wedding ceremony’s steps;
Prelude
As your guests arrive and are seated, they are welcomed with elegant music establishing the tone of your wedding. If your wedding is to take place in a church, more formal music, including hymns and classical pieces are played. In less formal settings, classical and modern love songs are preferred.
Examples:
Ave Verum Corpus
Angel or Music from “The Phantom of the Opera”
Gymnopedia by Eric Satie
Seating of the Parents & Grandparents
The formal seating of the parents and grandparents is an indication that the ceremony has begun. Depending on the size of the party and length of the aisle, parents and grandparents may enter to the prelude music being played or a different piece.
Examples:
Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring
Minuet and Trio K.1 by Mozart
Ave Maria
Bridal Party Procession
During the processional, the wedding party walks down the aisle to take their respective places. This is the entrance of bridesmaids, groomsmen, ring bearer and flower girl. A piece with a consistent, easy walking tempo is perfect.
Examples:
Canon in D
Thousand Years
Bridal Procession
For the Bridal entrance, the voluminous Bridal March is traditionally played. However, always feel free to choose any song that you would like or that holds special value to you.Brides have requested everything from Beauty and the Beast, to Nuvole Bianche.
Examples:
The Bridal March
Clair de Lune
Thousand Years
During the Ceremony/Unity Candle/Vows
It is optional, yet welcomed to have music playing during the ceremony. Music may be played as a solo or interlude during the ceremony, during the lighting of the Unity Candle or even softly underscoring the couple’s vows.
Examples:
River flows in you
Amazing Grace
Largo in G
The Lord’s Prayer
Recession
Immediately following the ceremony, The Wedding March is a traditionally played piece as the newly married couple joyfully walks up the aisle. However, the Wedding March is just one example of the many upbeat, celebratory songs that could be used as your recessional.
Examples:
The Wedding March
Ode to Joy
Dussek Sonata I-II
Postlude
As during the prelude of the ceremony, music is softly played to accompany guests as they leave the ceremony. In that part, we prefer upbeat happy melodies.
Examples:
Up Main Theme, Disney Pixar
Valse de Concert by Alphonse Hasselmans
Cocktail/Dinner
Love songs are played, while your guests congratulate you! The harp creates the perfect elegant ambiance for your cocktail hour.
Examples:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Moon River
Debussy Arabesques
